Using a Invoice
When to use it: Issue it after agreeing the scope and completing the billable work or delivery.
Typical information: Seller and buyer details, invoice number and date, item descriptions, quantities, rates, taxes, total due, and payment terms.
How it differs: Unlike a quotation, an invoice records a charge that is due. A receipt records payment already received.
Example: A web developer sends an invoice for a completed site update, with the work, agreed fee, due date, and payment details.
